Chapter 129 - 129: The True Power Of The Mark. (1/2)

Gray leapt from the platform, slashing and thrusting his blade countless times before landing.

A druid wolf's head was impaled by the edge of his blade upon landing.

[You have slain a Druid wolf]

'Mute all notifications.'

[Muted.]

He pulled the sword from the ground in an instant, and unleashed unforeseeable strikes at the wolves as they drew nearer.

Their bodies were slashed to pieces.

Gray paused the resorption of their organs before they were reabsorbed back into the ground.

Using them as stepping stones, he leapt around, from spot to spot, killing more and more of the druid wolves.

The mark felt amazing, as if time were slowing down.

His sword was cutting through like butter.

He kept swinging and swinging, slashing at slashing at every wooden thing he could see.

Before he had even realised it, he had cleared all of the druid wolves in his area.

With a glance towards Delta, he could see that she was doing the same, taking them out using her flames.

The flames weren't spreading.

As she swung her sword, towards the nearest one, his eyes widened.

[Pause Step: Level 2]

Delta felt chills go down her spine, as she was suddenly caught in a princess carry by Gray and propelled away with him.

She was in the middle of a sword swing so it had caught her off guard.

'When did he-'

She was interrupted as a large shadow suddenly passed from behind them.

Even with her flaming irises active, she had barely been able to catch the movement.

The flaming irises worked in a way that it allowed her to see through the dark and improved her visual acuity and cognition by bounds.

Gray came to a stop on top of a platform which the other druid wolves couldn't reach before looking around.

A shadowy silhouette could be seen moving around them at high speed as it circled them through the wood's.

It moved so fast, that it's silhouette was almost blurry.

”Thoughts on what that is?” She asked.

Gray put her down on the platform, before leaping off of it, impaling the druid wolf which he landed on.

”Don't know.” He said.

Swinging his sword towards the other three remaining wolves.

”But it doesn't matter-”

From his blind spot, the shadow suddenly leapt out from the jungles woods towards him.

It must have thought that he couldn't see it because it was night.

Not to mention, Gray's attention was turned to the other three druid wolf's, it was the perfect opportunity.

With its fanged mouth, the size of Gray's entire upper torso, inches away from Gray's head, ready to take him out before he could even process what had happened.

But instead of that – It was left with nothing but surprise as the heel of a kick dug into its eyes from the side.

By the short time it took for it to position its legs to leap away, it was already too late.

*Slash* *Spurt*

Blood gushed, out from said creature as it's head flopped to the floor.

Delta was dumbfounded. She could barely keep up with it's movements and yet – he killed it in a little over a second.

The giant head of a large wolf could be seen laying on the ground. This one wasn't being absorbed in.
