Chapter 88: The Blank Pages Of The Chronicles. (1/2)

6:34 AM, December 16th 2022.

Lara entered Gray's room to clean it up and organise the bed as she had made it her job to do the chores around the house. He was outside training and had already given her permission.

Upon entering, she was instantly greeted by a strange scent which resembled cleaning products. The room was a mess, the bed's mattress was untidy and seemingly stained by a strange fluid.

”T-Those sounds I was hearing all night...”

Her cheeks grew pinker as she stuck the pieces of the puzzle together.

”W-Well they're at that age... S-Still... A-All night... W-Wait... Did they use protection? It's the apocalypse... What if they didn't have any?”

- 5 Minutes later.

Violet woke up with her hair dishevelled and dark circles beneath her eyes. Beside her was Aurora who was still fast asleep.  As she tried getting up, she was surprised to suddenly fall and land back on the sheets on her back.

Her legs and body were sore all over and she could faintly recall why. When she did, her cheeks flushed red before she hastily shook her head.

'All night... How many times did we...?'

She looked down at her belly and life could be seen leaving her eyes in fear as she realised something.

'What if I get pregnant? I don't want any kids until I'm at least in my late twenties. Especially in the apocalypse...'.

”W-Well... I took a shower after everything... Things will be fine... Right...?” She asked, nervously.

Gray sneezed suddenly sneezed during his run.

”It's quite cold today... It's Christmas soon, isn't it?” He asked before looking down at the small gift box on his hand, the mystery box. ”I've been wanting to open it, but with how shit my luck is, I'm too afraid to.” He sighed whilst he placed it back in his pouch.

[Do you wish to use the mystery box?]

'No.'

Mostly everyone was fast asleep around this time. His sister especially was still asleep as she had been completely exhausted from the Labyrinth. Ruby's healing had given her a temporary stamina boost, but that ran out before bed.

Since there was nothing else to do, Gray was completing his daily training.

Just as Gray finished his lap around the mansion, the notification rang inside of his head. Had had done so to clear the perimeter of any zombies he could find.

After doing so, he stopped to take a breather, unlike usual, his shirt wasn't drenched in sweat and he was doing completely fine. His stamina had truly leaped
