Chapter 38: Escaping The Prison: Part 1. (1/2)
In a dark and quiet meeting room, six people were assembled and sat on their designated seats, discussing a recent occurrence.
”To be able to handle Axel, his squad and some of our finest troops… Their abilities are definitely unique.”
”The potential as well… Based on the recordings and the report, he can freeze people upon contact with their bodies, but he was somehow able to teleport and even break free of that esper…”
”I think we can all agree that the best option would be to recruit the two of them and the esper. But what do we do if they refuse?”
They all turned to the one sat at the head of the table. His hair had turned white and Gray from all age, yet the desire for survival still shined bright in his eyes. He was the head manager of the refugee.
”We dispose of them. Threats to the refugee must be dealt with.”
The meeting ended, as the man's decision was final.

”We have an offer to make.” Said The lady as she stood by the Iron cells.
Beside her were two soldiers, both of them carried an AK-47 and had them pointed at Gray, in case he tried any funny moves.
Without replying, Gray's eyes remained glued on the ceiling, showing disinterest. But the lady carried on nevertheless, she brought her face closer to the cell, before speaking up.
”Come work for us, and we'll overlook all the damage you've-”
”Fuck off.” Gray interrupted.
Working for the government? After the way they treated him, not a chance. The moment he discovered that an asshole like Axel was working for them, he lost interest.
”Are you sure you don't want to hear the rest?” She asked. ”Something bad might happen to your precious comrade, or maybe even the kids that you were-”
*CLANK!*
The sound of the jail prison rattling resounded throughout the empty hallway, as Gray pulled her by the hair, slamming her against against the cell bars. He had appeared before her before she could even react.
[Pause Step]
The guards were alarmed, instantly pointing their guns at Gray, but were left with only shock as both of their weapons were frozen in place.
[Pause Level 2]
Gray could now pause up to three objects with a glance and hold it up to 10 seconds. Such was the benefit of the evolution of his skill. The soldiers weren't a threat to him.
”Captain!” One of the soldiers called out, ready to swing his fist at Gray.
The captain raised her hand however, gesturing him to stop. Gray had his finger placed over on the artery on her neck. There was no telling what sort of other abilities he had, and she didn't want to test it.
A cold, void-filled smile could be seen on Gray's face as he spoke.
”If you cause any harm to them, I swear that I will kill you all.”
Gray then let go of her, watching as she dropped to her knees, before saying. ”Relay that message to your superiors.”
With her feet still trembling, she got up, now further away from the cell before saying. ”You think you're tough shit, don't you…? But you're not. Don't underestimate the government… You'll regret it.”
Without replying, Gray simply smiled at her whilst waving goodbye.
”C-Captain, are you okay?” One of the soldiers crouched down beside her, helping her up.
[Unpause]
The guns were unpaused, as soon as they noticed that, they quickly pointed their guns at Gray once more. ”Why waste our time trying to convince this fool!? We might as well kill him now!!”
”DONT.” Said the captain as she got up. ”We have realm, he isn't a threat to us. We're also not allowed to kill him yet.” She added as she fixed up her brown hair.
The soldier remained with his nuzzle pointed at Gray. No matter what anyone said, he still genuinely believed it would be best to kill him now.
”Lower your weapon. It's not worth it.”
The soldier clicked his tongue before lowering it.
”Let's go.” She said before fixing her posture and walking away.
