Chapter 32: Auroras Past. (1/2)

The two young adults, cuddled with one another as they rested on top of the bed. Aurora just wouldn't let go of Gray's arm. Even if he wasn't in the mood for cuddling, the warmth and softness was too good to pass by. After all, who in their right mind would refuse cuddles from such a gorgeous girl?

Not to mention how cute she looked as she hugged his arm.

Unable to resist the temptation, Gray patted her head before stroking her hair a few times. Gray who had been on edge throughout the day finally felt relaxed.

'Why is this so relaxing?' He wondered as he continued.

Aurora on the other hand was happily enjoying her free pats. If it helped Gray's mood, then it was a win-win.

”…Hey… Gray…” Aurora called out to him.

”Yeah?” Gray replied as he continued to stroke his hair.

”Aren't you worried about your family?” She asked.

'Worry?'

”I guess you could say that.” Gray replied with a chuckle.

Confused, Aurora looked up to him, tilting her head as it rested on his chest before asking. ”What do you mean by that?”

Truthfully, Gray wasn't sure whether what he was feeling was worry or not. His mind and heart had grown so numb to emotions that he wasn't sure what each one was associated with him.

”I'm not sure… What do you mean by worry?” He asked, looking up at the ceiling.

”By worry I mean… Like for example… When you think of losing them or something bad happening to them, your heart hurts… You want to do everything you can to get them back… You hope that they're away from harm… Something like that, I think…” She replied with a saddened expression.

Gray placed his other hand over his chest and thought deeply. He recalled, the feeling he had felt when he discovered the possibility of her still being alive.

'My chest was warm… My heart was pounding… I was definitely happy…'

”Yeah… I'm definitely worried.” He replied, before stretching his arm towards the ceiling light. ”When I think about anything bad happening to her, my chest tightens, when I think about how I'm close but I can never reach her, it hurts.

Gray's heart which was closed off could no longer deny the fact. Whether it was because of Aurora or just him having found out his sister was alive, his heart which was closed shut and resolved to end it all, was quickly having it's defenses weakened.

He had tried not to over think it, but he was definitely worried about his sister. More than he dared to admit.

In fact, even if his emotions were numbed, he knew that he would still be worried. After all, it was his sister. Whether he liked it or not.

”Her?”

”My sister.”

”So you had a sister, that's good…” She spoke, a saddened smile growing on her face.

'Did she remember something bad? I wonder if she has any siblings.”

”What about you? Are you worried about your family?” Gray asked

The instant he asked, Gray noticed a change. She lowered her head to hide her expression as she babbled under her breath. ”Not really…”

Not knowing what to say to that, Gray stroked her hair once more. It was times like these that he really wished he was more social.

”Why not?” He asked.

Aurora was quiet at first but that slowly turned into trembling.

”H-How about we talk about something el-”

Gray's attempt to change the subject was interrupted.

”No, It's fine…” She uttered as she suddenly sat up, on top of the bed.

Her head hung, and Grey eyes releasing a cold and lifeless vibe. It was the same eyes she had when the two had first met.

”The only family I had… Was my older sister… She was the only one who cared for me… And yet… Because of me she's…” Her eyes trembled as the memories flashed by. ”She's dead.”

Aurora then proceeded to explain what happened. It was hell.
